01What DCR means
Domestic Content Requirement generally requires eligible solar cells and modules to be manufactured domestically under the applicable programme terms. It is separate from module efficiency, bifaciality, TOPCon cell architecture, BIS registration and ALMM status. One label cannot substitute for the others.
02How to verify
Check the current MNRE notice and programme guidelines, exact module manufacturer and model, invoice description, serial numbers and any portal validation. Ask for a written declaration and preserve the data sheet. Requirements and effective dates can change, so verify at procurement and commissioning.
03DCR versus ALMM
ALMM is an approved list of models and manufacturers under its order; DCR concerns domestic content under specified schemes. A model may need both, plus BIS registration and inverter/grid compliance. The project document should list each requirement separately with evidence.
04Buyer checklist
Do not accept a quotation saying only 'DCR panel'. Require make, exact model, wattage, cell technology, dimensions, warranty, BIS/ALMM evidence, domestic-content declaration, serial traceability and replacement policy. State who bears the risk if equipment fails scheme validation.
