01When to clean
Use visual inspection and generation trends rather than a fixed promise. Dry-season dust, bird droppings, nearby construction and low tilt can increase frequency; monsoon rain may help but does not remove every deposit. Compare similar sunny days before and after cleaning.
02Safe method
Follow the module manufacturer's instructions. Clean in cool low-irradiance hours with clean water and a soft non-abrasive tool. Avoid standing on modules, harsh chemicals, metal scrapers, pressure jets near seals, and cold water on very hot glass. Isolate only according to the approved shutdown procedure.
03Water quality
Hard water can leave mineral spots. If local water produces visible residue, use suitable low-mineral water or a manufacturer-approved method and dry without abrasion. Do not allow wastewater to create roof slip hazards or enter sensitive drains.
04Professional service
Commercial arrays may need fall protection, access planning, cleaning equipment, string monitoring and a recorded before/after check. Cleaning does not replace electrical inspection, thermal scanning, structure checks, vegetation control or inverter maintenance.
